Our Story
How It All Started
I launched LauraV Gaming Journal in January 2023 after spending a decade working for some of the biggest names in online gaming — Casino.org, AskGamblers.com, Betsson Group, and Casinomeister. I loved the work, but I kept hitting the same wall: editorial decisions were being influenced by commercial pressures. Reviews were being softened. Red flags were being ignored.
I knew I could do better. More importantly, I knew Canadian players deserved better.
So I took the leap. I built this site from the ground up — just me, my laptop, and a whole lot of coffee. The first few months were terrifying.
